(24) Did They See?

In late 1987 I saw an edition of the BBC comedy show; Alas Smith and Jones. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alas_Smith_and_Jones

One of the sketches it featured was a spoof of the programme Did You See?
(See Entry 77).

The format of Did You See? was that a resident host and three invited guests gave their opinions on some selected TV programmes which they had watched.

The point of Smith and Jones’ sketch was that none of the guests had in fact watched the programmes that they had been requested to view!

But earlier that day I had seen a children’s TV programme where the same joke had been made, i.e. a spoof of Did You See? where again none of the reviewers had watched their required viewing.
