(251) Drs use CiF to read minds and suss identity

In the summer of 2008 I suffered a severe, public low blood sugar fit or hypoglaecemia attack. Following some days of observation in hospital I was released and advised to have my head checked out (they had already ascertained that there was no alcohol nor trace of drugs in my blood system) to see if epilepsy or some other disorder might be involved, and so in December 2008 I went to the same nearby hospital for my first ever electoencephelogram. It was conducted by a woman. The results showed nothing unusual. But when I saw a doctor afterwards about them at the Neurological department of the Naval Hospital in Cartagena, she advocated a CAT Scan, just to make absolutely sure all was okay. This I had at the Hospital Virgen de la Caridad in the last week of January 2009. The results I was told would be sent to my GP... or at least that was what I, with my imperfect Spanish, understood the hospital personnel who conducted the scan to be saying. I noted that all of them were women. But the...

(175) Geldof 's milk

On the evening of February 4th 2001 I joined in a discussion in Channel 103 at the Internet Chess Club on whether money brought happiness. I remarked that I had heard that Sir Bob Geldof would be doing some work on the house next door to ours the next day and that, even though I was certain that his motives in setting up Live Aid in 1985 had been wholly philanthropic, the fact was that he had also benefited from it financially. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_Aid James Eadon queried how. I said that he had had indirect benefits, e.g. appearing in TV ads for milk. Simultaneously Eadon remarked "He was made famous by Live-Aid and if you have fame you can milk that." He noted our joint mentions of milk, and then said that he was unaware of Geldof’s milk ads. The following afternoon Fiona, who was unaware of the above interchange and who almost never drinks milk, asked me to go out and buy a pint in anticipation of the chaps working next door perhaps wanting some teas or coff...

The Narrative, Epilogues and Appendices

" When a man looks for Truth, Truth looks for him." (Sufi aphorism) "The plura l of anecdote is not data." Introduction Our science is founded upon causality. But this is a Blog of correspondences which follows in the tradition of Carl Jung, Paul Kammerer, Colin Wilson and others who kept Coincidence  records. On February 9th 1984, I began to meditate a little. Before long I began to encounter the occasional coincidence. Then, a round the time I turned twenty-eight,  I seemed to run into a "meteor shower",  w ith February 14 1988 providing the focus for no fewer than six . Here some sixty or so are recorded. You might even regard it as a form of pointillist self portrait, since the only facts you may glean about myself will be via the coincidences. Or, should you prefer, these Snapshots . Many are anecdotal and often the first part is my thinking about something, s o I'm afraid you'll just have to take my word for it. Yet for quite a lot a degre...
