(270) The Garden of E(a)don

On the evening of August 8th 2012 I was disputing Darwinism with James Eadon at Facebook. Richard Milton and I had challenged him to cite any evidence that the mechanism for evolution was the natural selection of spontaneous mutations: neo-Darwinism.
Later - and whilst the dispute was still ongoing - I logged in to Twitter and the actress Susan Penhaligon Susan Penhaligon - Wikipedia asked me what I meant by the term 'anti-Darwinian', for it appeared in my notes there. I told her that I thought there to be no genuine evidence for the mechanism of natural selection of spontaneous mutations acting as the engine for an evolutionary process.
She asked - "What then? Garden of Edon?"
She rapidly acknowledged her spelling error.
But, I went on to tell her, this was a cute coincidence in that Eadon ́s website had been headed The Garden Of Eadon and that there he had reviews of and examples from my book Coincidences.
Cartoons of the garden ́s serpent persisted at his website.

Plaskett - Eadon here. Tell your dodgy Journalist chum to come clean and cough up my £100 for our wager insofar as I claim my winnings for showing him an item of empirical evidence of Darwinian evolution in xarchive by a scientist that knows what he is talking about. Say hi to Susan P from me, I will not take charge of typing out her surname lest I misspell it.

At 21:12 on June 29th, 2015 I was flicking through a Youtube version of the 2000 film Gladiator - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbBiXPVKuTA I reached the point just before a particular scene which I wanted to see. Other available versions showed only certain excised scenes, but not the film in its entirety. It is where the gladiator portrayed by Russell Crowe talks with the slave owner played by the late Oliver Reed. The preceding scene, where Crowe takes on and slaughters a half dozen gladiators one by one, I had seen before as one of those excised. I now saw Crowe, after his killing spree, lobbing his sword to hit a distant table and asking of the amphitheatre crowd, "Are you not entertained? Are you not entertained? Is this not why you are here?" He then spits into the dust and walks off as the crowd chant his name. ( AMPLIFY ING the above article will make it easier to read.) I first met Fiona in March 1994, marrying her in December 1995 and hence moving to Hastings. I noted that a lot of her arty friends and neighbours had children with unusual names. Judy Neate had a son called Bingo, and Alistair Fairley a son called Paris and a daughter called Carson. Laetitia Yhap had a son called Ajax and Craig Sams a grandson called Mars.
