(106) Graham Hillyard
In the Autumn of 1994 I found my thoughts turning to an old friend from Essex; Graham Hillyard. Though I had known him since the mid 1970s we had drifted out of touch, and I had last glimpsed him at a chess event in London in late 1989.
One week in the Autumn of 1994, as I was travelling by tube in London, I thought that I spotted somebody who looked like him on a Central Line train as it pulled into St.Pancras.
I even got up to have a closer look, but saw that I had been mistaken.
But only three or four days later I was in the Café Mozart on Haverstock Hill and around midnight Graham walked in with two girls.
